A Kobold fight illustration made for the Mistgate Essentials: Origins book.
For this set of illustrations we went with a painterly look that would showcase the setting’s races, magic, stories, and environments. Among our mood and style references were JRPGs, Lineage and Guild Wars 1 concept art.
Me and Sean had already collaborated in other Kobold illustrations to get the feeling of their features and culture, so now they were a perfect candidate to show a character in action in the setting.
Mistgate is a third-party setting and rules expansion for Dungeons & Dragons 5e.
