Rachael | Blade Runner

I was commissioned to make this painterly sketch of Rachael’s iconic pose in the movie Blade Runner, and the client kindly allowed me to share it on Patreon and my stores. Thank you Henrique!

For this one I wanted a soft transition between all colors, while still maintaining Blade Runner’s visual identity and contrasts.

I’ve used John Alvin‘s posters and movie screencaps as mood and color references. In John’s blog I found this nice article with insights and the thought process behind his artworks, such as having to use stamp-sized photos of the actors as references for painting the characters.
