I modeled this ship hull in Blender to use as a base for the painting. Then I used either basic geometry or free 3D assets to populate the rest of the scene.

Some characters had specific costumes, personalities and roles, so I roughed out costume and pose ideas before bringing them onto the painting.

Outfits and pose adjustments were painted on top of 3D character bases.
